Two of Mary Kay's watercolors from 1991 recently came back to her. They hung in a former colleague's office for many years until the colleague retired.

Christmas art

Back in 2006, Mary Kay created seven large (8 ft tall insulation panels) pieces depicting the nativity story for our church. They were used then, and again three years later. They are also being used again this Christmas and Mary Kay is working on a new interpretation of the holy family.

the harbor of La Rochelle

Many of you know that we have been actively researching Mary Kay's genealogy for some time and have found out a lot about her predecessors. Through this she has met several second cousins she didn't know about in the Stefl and Perron families, and a further off cousin from the Rodgers line. When we traced the Perrons back to the first North American Perron, Daniel Perron, the son of a 17th century merchant named Francois Peron from the port city of La Rochelle in France, we also became aware of a man named Guy Perron in Quebec, a fifth or sixth cousin, who has done considerable research on the Perron family and written books about both Daniel and Francois. So we purchased these books. Monsieur Perron wrote us a friendly note and generously sent along a pin which is a re-creation of a seal used by Francois Perron to seal documents (in wax). Now Mary Kay has written back to him, sent  him a document about her Perron line from Clarence Creek,Ont and Michigan's Upper Peninsula and created this little painting for him of three ships in the harbor at La Rochelle. This reflects the fact that Francois Perron owned three ships which carried supplies to Nouvelle France in the mid 1600's.

Flavor of Italy

Mary Kay produced two large paintings for a local group using an Italian dinner on land outside Livermore as a fundraiser. They are intended to invoke the feeling of Italy. They will be displayed during the event and then auctioned off afterward.
